While Debra Bowen and Beth Krom ran unopposed in the primary election, they’ll both face tough opposition in November. Incumbent, Bowen, will be challenged by NFL player, Damon Dunn, who hadn’t cast a ballot until 2009. Krom, the former Mayor of Irvine and current City Council member is working hard to unseat incumbent Congressman John Campbell, who has demonstrated a lack of concern for the communities he represents.

Barbara Boxer will also face a particularly tough re-election to the U.S. Senate, campaigning against the well-financed newcomer, Carly Fiorina, who opposes a woman’s right to choose, along with a host of other progressive values.
