Greater Pasadena Champagne Brunch
Where
Home of Connie Holguin
When
May 17
11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Dear NWPC Members, Friends and Family:
The
National
Women's Political Caucus (NWPC) of Greater
Pasadena is pleased
to announce its
upcoming annual Champagne Fundraising Brunch,
to be held Saturday, May 17, 2008,
from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the beautiful home
of Connie Holguin. We are pleased
to announce that our honoree and featured
speaker will be State Senator
Sheila Kuehl, author of
the single payor healthcare plan (as of yet,
not enacted). Senator Kuehl has a
long history of fighting for women, children
and men and to advance social
justice on behalf of all of those who
have been historically
underserved.
Additionally, we will be honoring one of our Caucus co-founders, Dolores Hickabottom. This beloved community activist worked for Loretta Glickman (the City's first African American mayor), as well as several other progressive legislators. Dolores continues to participate in our monthly working council meetings and contributes much to our caucus work.
This event is our political action committee fundraiser, which allows our caucus to support local women running for office. In the past year, and through your generosity, we helped elect two women to the Pasadena City Council (Jacque Robinson and Margaret McAustin), a woman to the Pasadena Unified School Board -- Renatta Cooper –- and we helped fund the campaigns of Pasadena Unified School Board candidates Roberta Martinez and Milena Albert. Recently, we endorsed Enid Joffe, in her race to be re-elected to the Sierra Madre City Council. We look forward to continuing to help female candidates in the future.
You have helped us in the past as a sponsor to this event. Won’t you please help us again by sponsoring this event, as follows:
Benefactor--$300.00 Patron--$200.00 Sponsor--$100.00
Please let us know by return e-mail, or by calling Diana Peterson-More or Jeanne Register by Friday, April 11, 2008, to ensure your name will be listed on our invitation.
