CEDAW Hearings in the Senate
The U.S. Senate today (11/18/10) is holding its first hearings on the ratification of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) in nearly a decade. Paycheck Fairness Act Loses by TWO Votes
Today’s filibuster vote on the Paycheck Fairness Act is a disappointment. Particularly disappointing is that GOP women Senators like Kay Bailey Hutchison, Olympia Snowe, and Susan Collins voted against ending wage discrimination for women. Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Anti-Gay Protestors
Mar 4. The Supreme Court ruled 8-1 this week that under the First Amendment, the Westboro Baptist Church does not owe damages to the father of a Marine for protesting his son’s funeral. Read more.
