President’s Message
Women stand at the threshold of the greatest political change in the history of our country. We are no longer satisfied with being informed voters and community activists – we are running for political office and making a significant difference in every position that we hold. The National Women’s Political Caucus (NWPC) understands the importance of having feminist candidates and elected officials in local, state and federal positions; as legislators and members of the judiciary, as high level appointees; and as chief executive and commander-in-chief of the United States of America.
Women in California are 50% of the population and yet men hold more than 70% of the legislative seats. NWPC CA is dedicated to increasing women’s participation in the political process, with the goal of at least 50/50 representation in all elected and appointed positions by 2020 – and we are working to achieve it sooner! NWPC CA will not stop until there is 50/50 representation.
NWPC CA can be an outlet for your passion, creativity and commitment. I invite you to join us in the important work to be done and in the process have fun and create lifelong friendships.
